Noel Farrugia was born in Rabat, Malta on May 23, 1960. He
followed studies on rural development, agri-tourism and sustainable
agriculture at Codra Institute (CODRA), Padova, Italy.
Politics - He contested
general elections and was elected to the House of Representatives in
1992, 1996, 1998, 2003 and 2008 in the interests of the Malta
Labour Party.
In the year 1996, Mr. Farrugia was appointed Minister for Agriculture
and
Fisheries. After the 1998 General Election,
Mr.Farrugia was appointed as the Opposition
Shadow Minister for Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries.
He held this post until after
the 2008 General Election when he
was appointed as the Opposition
Shadow Minister for International
Development Aid.
Career - Noel Farrugia is
founder of the national youth Torball Blind Association, the national
auto and cycle offroad association, and the Maltese-Thuringen
Association for rural youth co-operation
